Honey Garlic Shrimp

Serves 2

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Way to cook:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Add the shrimp and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Place shrimp in a single layer in the pan, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side or until pink and cooked through. Pour any remaining marinade over the shrimp and let it cook for another minute until the sauce slightly thickens.
  3. Garnish with red pepper flakes, green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
